Vanished Buildings of St. Paul's School
Old Gymnasium (1878-1879)

Architect: George H. Young. The Old Gymnasium was being built in the summer of 1878 when the original School burned. The second floor was designed to be an auditorium but was turned into temporary dormitory space due to overcrowding. The building was enlarged several times-in 1895, 1902, and 1905. Torn down in 1957. Site is west of the New Chapel; Lower School Pond is visible in the right background.
