Building the Quonset Huts (c1952)

Building the Quonset Huts. Banished from Long Pond (the city resovoir) by Concord offficials in 1951, the rowing program relocated to Big Turkey Pond. A quonset hut was built as an interim boat house after the first season (1952) on Big Turkey, and a second hut was added the following year. They were decommisioned after the School's current rowing course was created by dredging the marsh between Big Turkey and Little Turkey ponds in 1958.
