Powerhouse 1927

The Powerhouse was built in 1927 with funds provided by Mr. and Mrs. Carll Tucker. The psalm “O Ye Fire and Heat, Bless Ye the Lord” is inscribed on the outside wall. The architect, Charles Z. Klauder, designed a similar Gothic powerhouse at Yale. For years heat and electricity were generated here. It is now called the Central Heating Plant, and steam heat for many School buildings is generated here.
