A Student's Letter Home 1903
Sunday, November 8, 1903
Dear Mamma,
It has been very cold all this week, and Friday it was only
a little above zero at breakfast time, so please send my
winter flannels as soon as you can!
Tuesday the School team, which was selected from all three
club teams, played the Harvard Southmores [sic], and although
our team played very well, they were beaten 10-0. Yesterday
the S.P.S. played another game, this time with the Harvard
Freshmen, and were again beaten 10-0.
Wednesday we had exams in Latin, German and Algebra, all
of which I succeeded in passing.
All this week I have been playing foot-ball and not doing
much else. I guess that is about all that would be of interest
to you, so with love to Sister and the boys,
I am ever your loving son,
George Farnum Brown
