Theodore Roosevelt

On the walls of the top floor of the Schoolhouse today one sees the framed autographed portraits of all U.S. Presidents. Some are inscribed specifically to the students of St. Paul’s School, such as this one by Teddy Roosevelt, President of the United States 1901-1909, who wrote:

To the boys,
Behave in life as a game and clean man behaves on the football fields:
Don’t flinch; don’t foul; and hit the line hard.
Theodore Roosevelt
