These action photos from the early 1880s are very rare. John Hargate of the Form of 1861 and faculty until his death in 1906, did not like being photographed. In the first of the three photos he is the man with the bowler hat standing on the right with the Big Study, Old Gymnasium, and Old Chapel in the background. The second photo shows the Big Study and the Old Chapel, and the third was taken from the opposite side with a very blurred view of the School behind. The boys are releasing energy through leap-frogging.
