Chapel of St. Paul
Interior

“The Chapel services at St. Paul’s appealed from the beginning to the boys’ feeling for music and color, to their instinctive enjoyment of ceremony; and they kept the worshippers awake by the various responses required of them. At Christmas and Easter the Chapel would be verdant with wreaths and garlands set in place by the students.”– (Heckscher, p.35). Owing to the growth of the School, it became necessary to enlarge the Chapel in the summer of 1868, when the nave was moved back back and the present transepts were built between the nave and choir. Today, the First Night Service for new students and Last Night Service for the Sixth Form connect the many generations who have worshipped here.
