Loan Periods

The general loan period for books, cassettes, and CDs is three weeks, and one week for videos and DVDs. Exceptions may apply.

Renewing Library Materials

Most books and other materials may be renewed provided that they are not more than one week overdue and have not been requested or reserved for other patrons. You may renew your library items by logging on to the Library’s online catalog by clicking HERE with your User ID and PIN numbers, phoning the Library at 603-229-4860, or in person at the Circulation Desk. Most library items may be renewed three times.

The following materials do not circulate outside of the library: reference books and materials, Reserve materials, microforms, journals/periodicals, maps, and newspapers. Certain collections are subject to additional restrictions or conditions of use.

Other Resources

Ohrstrom Library has electronic equipment available for use in the library. Please ask at the Circulation Desk to borrow laptops, CD and cassette walkmans, headphones and thumb drives. Closed study carrels on the lower level may also be signed out at the Circulation Desk.

Photocopying

Ohrstrom Library has a photocopier on the main level. In addition, there are five microform readers/copiers on the lower level.

Food and Drink

Please do not bring food or any beverage into Ohrstrom Library. If spilled, food and drink can seriously damage books and computers. In addition, all food and beverages attract vermin, which attack and destroy books. There are receptacles in the Coat Room for disposal of food and drink before entering the library.

Gifts-in-kind: books and other library materials

Ohrstrom Library gratefully accepts gifts of books and other library materials that are within the scope of its collections and that meet other criteria regarding physical condition.

To avoid misunderstandings, we ask that all prospective donors consult with the appropriate library staff member before making arrangements to have gift books and other library materials sent or delivered.

Gifts of books and other library materials pertaining to St. Paul’s School history should be discussed with David Levesque, School Archivist and Technical Services Librarian ( 603-229-4864 or dlevesque at sps dot edu). Gifts intended for the circulating collections may be discussed with Kevin Barry, Library Director ( 603-229-4862 or kbarry at sps dot edu). Inquiries may also be mailed to David Levesque or Kevin Barry, Ohrstrom Library 325 Pleasant Street, Concord, NH 03301.

Second copies of books and other materials currently held by Ohrstrom Library are on occasion accepted as gifts (whether to be added to the collection, or to be used as replacements for inferior copies). Please consult the library’s Online Catalog to determine whether Ohrstrom Library owns a particular title or call the Library’s service desk at 603-229-4860.

Please note that by law the Library cannot appraise or estimate the value of any gift.

The Library reserves the right to dispose of gifts it cannot use and to modify its policy concerning gifts as necessary.

We hope that this statement of policy will be helpful to those who would like to join the many friends of Ohrstrom Library who have contributed gift books and other library materials in the past. We are deeply grateful to all of our donors for their generous support.
